Styx imbued Charjer and Kechara with godly powers and they eagerly began their training with Cirion. Their first task was to create a landscape, which, they found, was something that came naturally to them.

The next task was to create objects such as armor, weapons, and even animals. Cirion was amazed at the speed at which they were both learning.

Miphon assisted in the lessons where he was able as Styx watched from his library.

Ryoga, Ate, Cueball, Smirk, Min, Sven, and Gohan had returned to the first aid station on the floating island. It had been two days since their encounter with the balrog and Gowrie. There had been a bright light and in its wake they found Charjer's weapon, which Gohan now held in his hand.

Waiting for them inside the building were Kaerith and Electra, who had recently returned from their expedition to the island of Angelesey. They both had a solemn look on their faces as they watched the group enter.

As Gohan entered, Electra saw him holding Charjer's weapon. He plopped himself heavily onto the seat next to her and placed the weapon on the table.

"He's gone then?" she asked. Ryoga nodded slowly in response, unable to say anything.

Sven slammed his fists down onto the table. "If only I had been faster!" he exclaimed. Ate gave him a pat on the back.

"If only we all were," he said to Sven, trying to comfort him.

Kaerith grabbed something from under the table. It was revealed to be Kechara's sword, which was enamored with dragon teeth in the hilt. She placed it next to Charjer's enchanted staff.

"What happened?" asked Cueball.

"We had been assisting the druids in the rebuilding of their temple on the island of Angelesey," began Electra. "As we were moving some rubble, part of the wall above Kechara came tumbling down." Tears started flowing from her eyes, causing her to pause.

Kaerith continued the story. "The wall came down so fast. All we could do was watch. And then there was this bright light. And she was gone."

The group stared at the weapons in silence after Kaerith had finished.

Gohan spoke first. "Charjer was my first friend. He never put me down or belittled me. He was always there when I really needed him, like when you all rescued me from Tiamat." The group murmured their remembrance of that adventure.

"Kechara was an amazing spellcaster," recalled Ryoga. "It's maddening to think that she was done in by a wall falling down onto her instead of in battle."

Electra wiped the tears from her face and picked up both weapons. She exited the first aid station. Curious to see where she was going, everyone else trailed after her. She lead them to a hidden alcove housing an eternal flame. "This eternal flame is said to be able to burn anything," she said.

With that said, she placed Charjer's weapon onto the flame. It immediately turned to white ash which caught a passing breeze and spread into different directions. As they watched the ashes disappear from view, Electra placed Kechara's weapon onto the flame next. Her weapon turned to white ash also. But, instead of spreading through the air, the ash immediately disappeared.

Everyone walked slowly back to the first aid station.
