As the light subsided and blurred vision came into focus, figures came into view. The one with the large hang nail on the left was familiar. The other two were not.
"Greetings Charjer," the one on the right said. "I am Cirion." He wore dark silk garments with a robe that seemed to flow with his every movement.
"Am I dead?" asked Charjer, surprised to find that he could speak.
"Not yet," answered the figure in the middle, although it didn't even look like his mouth had even moved. Charjer tried to look at him, but the mysterious figure seemed to almost disappear the more he tried to focus in on him.
Cirion smiled. "Charjer, this is Styx," he said, motioning to the person in the middle. "He is the creator. And you have already met Miphon."
"Nice to see you again Charjer," acknowledged Miphon. Charjer bowed in response.
"Oooh, I like this one Cirion," said Styx. "It seems you have chosen well."
Charjer looked confused. He wanted to ask what he had been chosen for, but didn't want to seem disrespectful towards the three most powerful beings on the three earths.
"Allow me to explain Charjer," began Cirion. "I was once like you. Going on epic adventures, slaying beasts, and the like. And I was approached by Miphon one day and was offered the chance of a lifetime. He offered me the chance to become a god. It's a decision I have never regretted."
"Where do I fit in to all of this?" inquired Charjer.
Styx smiled. "We are making you the same offer. Be warned: to become a god is not without sacrifice. To your friends, you are dead now. We offer you a new life."
"My time here is coming to an end," said Cirion. "I will be leaving this land in order to create my own. I am looking for a replacement." He smiled suddenly. "Or rather, replacements." He stood to the side and a cloaked figure was revealed to be standing behind him. The person removed the hood and revealed her identity to Charjer.
"Kechara," breathed Charjer. She smiled at him and moved to his side.
"You two are amazing individuals," commented Cirion.
"But together, your feats are incredible," Miphon continued.
"That is why we have made you this offer," Styx finished. "We have deemed you two worthy of godhood." With a wave of what many would assume to be his hand, Styx conjured an hour glass. "You will be given until the hour glass empties to make your decision."
Charjer and Kechara looked into each other's eyes for a few minutes before looking back at the gods that they stood before.
"As long as I'm with Kechara," said Charjer, "I'm ready for anything."
"We accept," said Kechara.
